Remote Learning Basic Information.  

 

Dear SVS Families,

Good morning, due to snow and road conditions this morning, our school is closed to in person learning.  We will be remote learning today.

Here are the details for your student(s) to remote learn today:

• Classes will meet via a video conference today for instruction.
• We will follow a modified remote learning schedule of four (4) periods.
  • School hours for students today are 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Meeting schedule for classes and periods as follows.

• Class 1 - 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
• Class 2 - 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Class 3- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
• Class 4- 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
   

• Attendance:Teachers will post an assignment in google classroom for students to complete. The expectation is that students will complete that assignment prior to the next school day.  If a student does not complete that assignment they will be marked absent from class. Attendance to the zoom part is not required but encouraged. 
• Students need to check their google classrooms for the video conference link for each class.
• Instruction may not take place the entire period.  Students may be assigned work to do independently following zoom instruction.  Teachers will be available for students the entire period.  
• A decision will be made around 12 noon for High School activities practice.  Please watch Remind for information from our high school coach. 

We know internet connections may be challenging for some families.  Please know while attendance in class via video conference is expected today, we will not penalize students for not attending.  Students who are not able to attend class remotely today will fall under our absence policy to complete work they missed.   Completing work assigned today during remote instruction is an expectation, and is the responsibility of the student.
